History of Why We started
This heartfelt initiative blossomed from the deeply rooted compassion of one man, Jamar Bryant, whose unwavering commitment to giving back stems from his own humble beginnings. Growing up alongside his three brothers under the loving guidance of a single mother, Jamar witnessed firsthand the resilience required to navigate through life’s adversities.
There were days when putting food on the table seemed an insurmountable challenge, and nights when the comforting embrace of a stable home eluded them, forcing them to seek refuge in their vehicle. These experiences etched into Jamar’s soul a profound determination to carve a different path, one illuminated by hope and suffused with generosity. Fuelled by the memory of his mother’s unwavering strength and sacrifice, Jamar embarked on a journey of purpose, dedicating himself to ensuring that no one, especially not his own kin, should ever endure such hardships again.
In a poignant tribute to the woman who shaped his resilience, Jamar has steadfastly led monthly community giveback efforts, weaving together threads of compassion and solidarity to create a tapestry of support for those who, like his family once did, find themselves in the throes of adversity.

As champions of compassion and change, we prioritize serving homeless individuals and families, as well as survivors of domestic abuse. Through our unwavering commitment to feed the homeless and support those affected by domestic abuse, we provide vital assistance and create pathways to hope and healing.
